In Training posted:Doom 1 has way better levels but it also doesn't have the super shotgun or enemies attacking each other so it's a toss up. ep1 of doom 1 is stellar but the rest of it is very middling in quality; that said, a lot of doom 2 levels are middling in quality too. infighting did exist in doom 1, but 2 also added a shitton more enemies that the game desperately needed so between the bestiary and the SSG i consider it the vastly superior game

I'm the biggest Star Ocean fan in the world and 4 is an absurdly terrible game with really fun combat. Lymle (nappy time girl) is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to awful characters in that game. anyway so of course I platinumed it and I'll probably buy the remaster.

silent hill 4 is such a disappointment because it has so many good ideas but pairs them with the worst execution possible having your safe space slowly become more and more haunted is cool, having a bunch of random events that can trigger there is cool, and the water prison is legit one of my all time favorite SH environments, and the soundtrack as noted is typical Akira Yamaoka so incredible but then actually PLAYING the game is garbage. tiny inventory, unkillable ghosts that damage you just from being near them, the back half being the same as the front half but this time you escort a useless npc and if you go through a door while the npc is more than three feet away from you, she doesn't go through the door with you, the list goes on and on it's a really bad game that could have been good
