From what I remember that eel was that one diver's buddy year after year. Like he'd only be on vacation once a year and the eel would come out to see only him specifically and it was the same eel. It even stayed in the same tiny area which was unusual enough

I like the idea of the Owl Cafes they have in Japan, but all the videos just show that the owls obviously aren't into it. I guess I'm just going to have to find some local owls and train them myself until I'm eventually found dead in my lovely studio apartment with dozens of owls.

Yeah, I'd suspect there's a lot of directional selection going on since they're exposed to predators again. A lot of traits that are bred for are not conducive to survival.

Maybe there will be rabbits closer to where the humans are where friendliness wins out, and the rabbits further away will revert to a more wild disposition?

I would think there would be too much genetic drift between those two groups to see that sort of behavioral divide appear, but it's certainly an interesting natural experiment. I bet we could look at populations of other urban critters to get an idea of how it could play out.
