How did the Potter one shot go? I notice it’s been oddly quiet.

I know, it’s just that the cast or live show audience usually tweet or FB after it. It’s been silent and they didn’t even announce what system they were using. I was a little worried that the IP rights they joked about had actually caught up with them.

Organza Quiz posted:I mean this is the guy who just set fire to the place they absolutely did not want to catch on fire in order to cause a distraction minutes before they killed all the people who were meant to be distracted by the distraction. Given the timing and situation I really want to know if that was scripted or not.

inthesto posted:Dave's proven again and again that he isn't the kind of DM to railroad the party. It really would go against the spirit of the show if he pulled a "You guys succeeded but actually some random thing happens so you have to continue down my plotted path", especially given how effortless the fights were. Bushu-D2 was definitely a convenient out, but if Hing hadn't brought it up, there probably would have been an extremely different outcome. Not on major beats like that. The big giveaway was at the end of Season 3 with the prerecorded song for Johnny PlayStation’s ascendence; it shows they knew in advance what would happen to Johnny. The Season 5 theme seems to have the common problem with incremental evil plans which work in fiction but in RPGs can have the issue of “ok, you stopped the burning gate opening so you win I guess”. It’s good radio, so it’s not really a complaint, but it’s worth bearing in mind.

I want to know what would have happened if Philge had bought the casino Edit: as for the cultist fight, that's the thing - it's not really railroading because Dave does a great job of fitting the story beats into what happens. In that case Freezo had already sent his "turret" out before the fight began, so the difficulty of the fight wasn't an issue (and that itself was good because if the DF had lost the fight they would have to explain why the mad cultists didn't kill them or leave them to burn) hyphz fucked around with this message at 18:17 on Jun 8, 2019 |

The UK used to have ice magic. But has it under a different name now. The ToA stream was quite close to the published adventure but for a few changes and letting them skip like 70% of the final dungeon. Hing sounded genuinely upset in the last main episode. I hope its all ok offstage still.

inthesto posted:So what are the predictions for the setting of season 6? My first thought was a seafaring campaign, but then I realized that would be pretty similar to season 4, just with water instead of phlogiston. Also, apparently there is no official sea or ocean based campaign setting. They sail across the seas and arrive in Chiba. They never travelled in time at all..

SpacePig posted:And remember, the one that was given the space battle stuff was Simon, who typically is the one who pays attention to the rules and is the closest to knowing how to play. If they ever switch, they'll have to do it in private before doing it in a show, or on stream where stakes are lower. They have played both Edge Of The Empire and Monster Of The Week. But they play the same as the D&D episodes because they don’t use the rules much anyway, so no sense losing the big brand I suppose.

Does anyone here have contact with Heymermaid the wiki admin? The main nav can’t be updated without her and she’s disappeared.

There is also a wiki on Fandom, but the original maintainer has been AWOL for a long time, so stuff is being written about the newer seasons but can’t be linked to the menus or front page.

Technically someone can “adopt” the wiki, but fandom has to approve that and it usually requires “continuous posting for months” which can be difficult for a podcast wiki.

Thaddius the Large posted:Depends on which fire, they set numerous that season! I mention it because my fave is their dealing with one such fire in Vantage, city above the lizard marsh, wherein by trying to deal with the forest fire they previously set they subsequently nearly kill several party members on a side trip Dave never intended and entirely irrelevant to the plot. Either that or the original fuckasuckadingdong, or the crocodile pit, so many options https://thedragonfriends.fandom.com/wiki/Come_for_the_Biscuits
