i'm going to be the one to say that this season isn't quite connecting with me in the way season 1 did, but, that's not a put-down at all and the reasons why are totally beyond s2's ability and i'm still loving it a lot

i think the first season might have been a little better made, but this season is adapting really good stories.

I feel like as much as the OC donut steal plot from the first season jangled with some people, it did help provide a clear indicator of events being chronologically sequenced. Right now every episode could be taking place in parallel dimensions as far as I am concerned, which means I don't have any particular hype going into an episode. It is enjoyable while I am watching episodes but the season as a whole does not click for me I guess.

As most of these episodes were actually early chapters meant to establish some of Libra's members.

Is the next episode from a later volume or BBB&B, out of curiosity?

Even though it's wacky danger and action the show to me works like a slice of life. Each episode is just whatever hosed up bullshit Libra has to deal with today, and tomorrow it'll be something different. Something like that really doesn't need an overarching big plot, but I think there's enough worldbuilding present to provide some big stories with the Blood Breed threat & the various other cosmic and otherworldly beings that periodically decide to gently caress some poo poo up on a whim. I think my favorite plotlines are the ones that are more grounded and seedy though, like when they have to deal with organized crime or something connected to politics.

I would really like an episode through the eyes of someone just going through a mundane daily routine. Like a mailman for example.

i do kinda wish there was some small sense of continuity, since yeah i cannot begin to place one story in relation to the others. when the one-off adventures are as good as this, the premiere, or chainpossible...those complaints pretty much fly out the window though

I think Leo comes pretty close to that, since when he's not getting dragged into something he's just an ordinary dude trying to make ends meet as a pizza delivery guy.

One of my favourite worldbuilding details is the signs on public transport denoting the chance of regular humans surviving the trip. It all blends together well with stuff like how Phillipe gets grabbed by a creature masquerading as an entire bar.

Hopefully if our new Butler Bro sticks around it'll give us a bit of continuity within the season moving forward. The strongest S1 to S2 continuity comes from : Black and White being gone from all episodes. Dog Hummer not being in an iron straightjacket. Zed being around. Burgershroom showing up again.

We're up to the 2nd ever official portrayal of New Jersey in anime - Philip came in at Newark Airport, which got nicely rebuilt after Lucky Abrams caused it to basically blow up.
