What a powerful and sad episode. Phos and Antarticite literally strained themselves to the breaking point, for nothing. This show is so incredibly good at body horror. Beyond the terror of the gems breaking into pieces, the way the Phos's upper arms and shoulders creak and strain where they mix with the gold, and the way it flows into the cracks, are simultaneously pretty and horrifying. This show has a really great sense of shot composition & visual comedy. I loved how the shot of all the gems hiding from Phos was mirrored in the back half of the episode with Phos hiding from all the gems behind Sensei.

Phos's loss of memories and Identity is supposed to be tragic to the audience. I know I gasped when they ask "who's Cinnibar". Hoof, that Antarticite scene is something else.
