 I haven't touched the game since trading was patched in (2013?) and the game turned into an auction house simulator where you got kicked from servers if you didn't want to trade hats.

Has it reverted back to being a fun multiplayer shooter yet? I kinda want to try again but I'm worried if the game ultimately went the way of CSGO with all the loot and trading mechanisms.
