I suspect there's water inside your distributor cap, causing the no-start.

My only real complaint about it is that the (front) drive wheels are a bit expensive ($30 each), and I wore the tires off of them. Fortunately, the wheels on the parts mower were usable. Just cracked in the center of the tread at that point, so I filled them with polyurethane to make them solid. Seems to be holding up so far.

That's easily fixed with a strip of tread from a MTB tire and some self-tapping screws.

They used those Tyco splices where they put the 2 halves of my doublewidemanufactured/modular home together, and I've had to replace 4 of them in 25 years due to arcing. Fortunately, they're in the basement where they're easily accessible.

I did fix another little annoying thing, speaking of mowing the lawn. My gas can has a vent, but it's gotten brittle, and I had to keep track of where the cap went:

I discovered that, along with old-school non-"safety" spouts, you can also buy replacement vents! Under $7 for a pack of 6:

All better:

In a similar vein, I fixed my gas cans:

You might also try cleaning your bed with some dawn dish soap. Any sort of oils from fingers or other sources make stuff really pop off easily. And I've found that covering the bed in glue stick can sometimes help as well.

Also, I used to make welding cables in the shop, and "squeeze the band with pliers" is the method I was taught, so it looks good from here

It's supposed to provide just enough strain relief/horizontal support that the weight of the cable doesn't pull it out when it's hanging from a bridge beam/skyscraper girder. Just a stout ziptie is good 'nuff.
