 I know there's a Chapo thread but I've noticed the need for a general leftwing podcast thread for C-SPAM to share and plug the latest and greatest in audible agitprop. I've done my best to get a solid range of different lefty podcasts, but please feel free to post others I've left out (Pod Save America is not welcome, you fukken shitlib!!!!) and I'll try to add them to the OP. I've tried to get a solid range of options here for people looking to fill their smooth brains with sharp words about the violence economy of America. Delete Your Account is pretty good, they've had some excellent interviews. They skew more serious, but are enjoyable. What a Hell of a Way to Die is a lefty military focused podcast, I enjoy it despite not coming from a military background. We Don't Talk About The Weather is a British current events podcast that's pleasant enough, I know just enough about British politics to generally follow it. Left Coast (specifically https://twitter.com/LeftPod) is a good all round podcast. Seconding the Discourse Collective love.

That one is a sort of follow up from the previous one. The TLDR version is that the punishment the Obama administration settled on for the banks involved in the 08 crisis included financial relief for affected homeowners. And then what the banks like JP Morgan did was to first sell some of the mortgages they still owned, and then send letters forgiving the debt to the homeowners. In other words, the banks used fraud to pay the fines for their previous fraud, in the process screwing homeowners and/or the new owners of the debt. The Obama administration and people at the NY DA's office were aware of this, but decided to do nothing because if they did it would hurt the soundbite that had recovered X amount of money from the banks. So that one may seem just like "banks=good," but it makes more sense as a follow up to the previous one. Two sides of the same coin: they did nothing against JP Morgan because it would make them look weak on financial crimes, and they threw the book at the small community bank because it would make them look tough on financial crimes.
