Eternal Commissioner of the Super League. A new avatar. A new age, of the same old embittered Smasher that failed to escape the bonds of the SL, FM3, Johnny Hopp and Eri Yoshida "The Knuckle Princess". "The flames of Smasher's ire scorch the skies... Igniting St. Bellhorn's funeral pyre."

The Super-League is about creating a fantasy fantasy baseball team. I could spend thousands of words explaining the nuances, the history, and tips, but, in the end, it's about creating a fantasy fantasy baseball team, and anything I say here would make that unnecessarily complicated.

So, pick teams, do your best, and, if you want or need more advice or guidance, go to the Super-League Discord.

New Team Form

Fill out Now

This needs to be done to secure a spot in the Super-League

Teams Selected:

Pick eleven points worth of teams (twelve points for people who have never owned a Super-League team before), spread out over as many teams as you'd like. Hell, you could have eleven one-point teams if you really wanted.

Fill Out Soon

These items also need to be filled out, but not immediately, just as soon as you have some spare time

Team Name:

Team Logo (150x150 preferred):

Home City:

Home Stadium:
(Give me the dimensions and playing surface if it's a custom stadium)

DH Preference:

30-Man Roster:

25 in the majors, 5 in the minors

Lineups:

Pitching Rotation:

Strategy (Rate on a scale from -5 to +5)

Trying for extra bases:
Stealing Bases:
Aggressively Tagging Up:

Guarding the Lines:
Making Cutoff Throws:
Bringing in Pinch Hitters:
Bringing in Pinch Runners:
Bringing in Defensive Replacements:
Starting Pitchers on Short Rest:
Letting pitchers pitch throw trouble:
Letting Pitchers rack up high pitch counts:

The Big, Big List of Feeder Teams

Pick eleven points of feeder teams, twelve if you've never owned a team in the Super-League.

Hi! I'm TheMcD, and I'll be the one running the Expansion Cup for the new teams this time around. I'd just like to remind you again that if you have any questions, either ask directly here in the thread or head to the Super-League Discord channel. We're all looking for some new blood to join the league and would be glad to help anybody out!

If you're scared of screwing up, don't be - everybody's first team has issues, but it's a learning experience that leads to doing better the next time, and everybody goes through it.

You should just play instead! It's the best way to learn!

If you'd like some more information and a look at how teams are kind of built, take a look at last seasons EC sign up thread.

Also, the actual thread where things get played can be found here.

And if you have any questions, just feel free to ask.

Give it a shot! Or at the very least, don't watch THIS thread but instead watch the main thread that'll be linked when sign-up closes.

Oh, hey there! Fancy seeing somebody actually coming over from my thread - I honestly didn't expect that would happen.

Looking at what you've picked, you've basically built a team quite similar to one we've seen a few seasons ago from a veteran owner, so there's that. It has some glaring holes, but it also has two copies of the greatest player of all time that stands head and shoulders above the rest, so you've got room to maneuver with and could fix a lot of the problems with the ever wonderful world of trading players. We'll have a look at things once the time comes to actually build the team.

My thought process was "all the 6 point teams are gone so I'll grab two 5 pointers. Oh hey, I can put the Sox and Yankees together, that'll probably annoy someone. 2 points left, might as well grab the Angels since I live in SoCal."

As for the duplicate greatest player, pretend I did that on purpose as defensive drafting.

Fear is the glue that holds society together. It's what makes people suppress their worst impulses. Fear is power.

And at the end of fear, oblivion.

This isn't even "fantasy baseball", it's "fantasy video game baseball simulation organized by a madman". By madman I don't mean an insane person, I mean an angry person. But he's great.

Anyway pre-existing knowledge of anything beyond picking out 12 points of feeders isn't necessary. If you've ever played Galaxy Trucker board game you'll know that some of the best fun you can have is making a design so madcap loony and unstable is blows in half after the first foray out into the unknown. You can pick out feeders at random, put together the most hardscrabble and insane team seen yet, and still have fun wondering "maybe, just maybe this team can make something of themselves" like a virtual Indians team from Major League.

Odds are no, they'll do horrible and get blown up in a fiery earth-shattering kaboom, but that's the adventure!

And the icing on top is that some other person who knows everything about baseball, fantasy baseball, maybe even had multiple previous teams in the league, will do even worse, because that's baseball!

Hello folks! I just realized whoever linked the Little league/Big league world series feeder did a weird thing and linked to a wikipedia page that doesnt actually show who you get.

Here is an actual list of players that played in both!

It's my fault , mainly because I can't be bothered to spend 10 seconds figuring out what my arch nemesis wanted

Don't put Dean in the minors. We're all well aware of Dean's premature career demise, but Mogul isn't.

It's why the Dean on the Browns that threw like 2 innings works. It's why Smoky Joe Williams can still pitch brilliantly even after he couldn't throw the drat ball in real life. It's why post-2012 Albert Pujolses can still sometimes hit like Albert Pujols, rather than the sad husk he's turned into.

I mean, do what you want in the EC. Probably good to see what your other arms can do. But Dizzy Dean is absolutely one of your 5 best starting pitchers, and that could be said for probably 95% of the entire league. He rules.

I'm pretty sure you mean Joe Wood, not Joe Williams, since the latter is a Negro League player that would be custom made and can pitch as well as whomever making him wants him to. Or sometimes just pitches terribly regardless. I'm not salty, why are you asking?

Someone from across the pond who has little clue about baseball? Sounds like I have all the things needed to follow that owner's path then! :v:

Thanks to Shepard and McD for making me aware that this is happening!

I'll take:
(4) 1951 NL all stars
(4) 1994 AL Silver Sluggers
(2) 1987 Athletics
(1) 1905 Phillies
(1) 1972 Rangers

Rad, now we have three Germans hanging around. If we all put our heads together, maybe we can make up enough baseball knowledge to have enough for one person to know what they're doing!

so basically a 97 Sheffield. 86 Gooden in there to break your heart. 88 Lansford miiiiight be playable. Boog Powell should be a bit better but isn't.

Not bad for 1 point, Sheff's stock has been on the rise lately, good bat-first RF.

Lansford plays 3rd base, hits a few home runs and doesn't strike out 150 times a season. By Mogul standards, that makes him perfectly playable. Just by '88 he was winding down, and Mogul knows it.

Yeah, lemme rephrase that. Lansford is playable, especially at a slightly scarce position like 3rd base, but whether he'll hit and defend well given (1) he was good but not all-time great and (2) he's getting a bit long in the tooth is an open question.
