Or Jim tries to troll him, it backfires because he's so lame, gets doxxed, and Dwight has to save him through his contacts with 4chan. Pam innocently posts a selfie on Jims account and THE BOARD GOES WILD over her tits, (she secretly likes it.) I feel like the writers of the office who also wrote for Parks & Rec learned from their mistakes on the office. Instead of shoehorning in the documentary story line and that weird sound guy in The Office, they just accept it as part of the style of Parks & Rec. They also pared down the total number of main and supporting characters so that they could all have full detailed character arcs. Whether you like Ron Swanson or not, he definitely had a character arc compared to loving Stanley Hudson or Kevin Malone. Though it wasn't perfect. They did sort of shoehorn in all the character finales in one episode as if they really wanted to keep those stories going.

I'm telling you all if you watch the show stop at the wedding episode.

It's literally the perfect end point to the show when it's quality level was shaky but even and it was overall a pretty solid finale to the whole thing. It SHOULD have been the finale.. it's ALL downhill from there.

I'd say that was when it actually all started going downhill fast. The entire cast doing stupid dances down the aisle at the wedding is basically when it fully dropped the "this could be a real workplace" facade and 100% became a cartoon about wacky work situations.

It's pretty hard to argue that the show should have ended sometime between season 5 and 7. There were a few turds but also some absolute gems in there. The natural conclusion should have been the end of season 7.

The series finale is the absolute worst.

Creed was one of the best characters on there.

When he fucks up at his QC job and that paper goes out with the cartoon animals loving so he calls the factory, finds out who missed work recently, claims he tried to do his inspection that day, gets her fired, then takes up a collection for her which he pockets is just

:discourse:

And then you realize that must mean he doesn't actually do anything on a day to day basis at that job. And just to remind you there are later episodes where he can't even remember his job title.

People think Stanley is the least fucks given but it is definitely Creed.

Creed is also the creation of the actor of the same name who plays him, and a lot of the character seems to be based on the real person's somewhat unsettling impression of having lived a profoundly crazy life that only comes through in glimpses because he's not predisposed to discussing it in too much detail

quote:

I was with a folk trio back in '63 and '64, and we traveled all across North Africa, Israel, and Europe. So I met some insane people.

quote:

I’m in Europe and I’m talking to these people who are going to Crete to teach English. And I said, “Look, I’ve had visions. I’m going to be a very successful actor and musician. I see it in my third eye.” I was one of those mystical kind of cats. They said, “What’s your name?” I said, “Chuck Ertmoed.” They said, “That’s unfortunate. Let’s give you a better name.” One thing led to another, and I woke up the next morning, hungover from ouzo, and I see this tablecloth that I’d ripped off, and all these names are crossed out — one is circled: Creed Bratton. I went, “Oh, apparently this is my new name.” And I embraced it.

quote:

I was onstage at the Fillmore West playing for the Grass Roots, when I dropped acid for the first time. I played the first chords for “Let’s Live For Today” and a vortex of color started drifting away from the strings.

Then I hear [concert promoter] Bill Graham yell, “Plaaaaay!” I hit another chord, and see cartoon staff paper coming out of the speakers. The notes on the paper are falling off and crumbling to the floor. Very concerned, I walk over and start trying to pick up the notes. There are people who are wondering, “What the hell is he doing?”

To make matters worse, I dropped my pants and sat on the edge of the stage, trying to explain to the audience the meaning of life.

quote:

VF Daily: Let’s start with the obvious: You're Creed Bratton, and your character’s name is Creed Bratton. Should we read anything into that?

Creed Bratton: Well, if it was me, I'd be in jail, right? Probably.
