Fister Roboto posted:Coal and latent resources have got me thinking that it would be cool if you could spend money or monarch points to change a province's trade good. Obviously there would be restrictions, like you wouldn't be able to produce ivory in Germany, but you could change a grain province to a wine one for example. Or maybe there could be events that force you to change the trade good, like mines being depleted or animals being over-hunted. Step 2: Burghers change their provinces' trade goods based on prices changing with supply (and demand?) of countries within trade range. Step 3: Victoria 3.

Reman thinks Innovative ideas are bad, so he can go suck an egg. Or did that idea group get bad between the game's release and now? I don't pay close attention to the meta.

Doesn't Restoration of Union CB allow you to turn the tables on your attacker and become the senior partner? Is Claim Throne the same?

Do they have missions? I tried one of the holds with no mission tree and it seemed like a miserable slow slog, especially once the disasters got going.

Modelling the change from feudal levies to professional armies by having you rely on estate troops in the early game and then starting to build up a standing army as you gather more power onto the crown would be a good way to do it. I wonder what sort of levies you get from the other kind of estates. Maybe mercs from the merchants, and peasant mobs (that can be buffed in the right hands) fromthe commoners. It's 2020.
