the pay and techlands being places with lgbt centers (support+access) make sense to me. i'd also say tech is a little more about what you can do and what you've done, which may make transitioning a more comfortable idea. working in retail or something more appearance-based would definitely make starting things harder it could also be a question of knowledge. the internet's a giant library you can quietly browse from wherever, and nerds have had more access time Sagebrush posted:when you say there are more trans people in tech, is that more trans men or trans women? or equal? gonna go with trans women, due to the outsized presence of amab individuals in tech. but outside of tech, i feel trans men are more common, at least in my town
