Reminds me of when I realized grackles weren't just all black, their heads had an iridescent blue or purple color. Miss seeing them around, they had some unique vocalizations.

What a happy toucan  Don't they purr like that when they are extremely pleased? My friendship with our robin has progressed to handfeeding! First time today, and he's already taken food from my hand 4 times. I'm careful to offer a tempting choice of pellets, plus I look away when he's getting a piece , so I'm pretty sure he'll be comfortable taking food when I'm looking at him, maybe even filming him in a few days. Edit: I went to let the dog out at 9pm, and brave Robin was still up and looking for food, so I offered him a palmful of pellets, and he actually took one while I was looking at him
