real alien talk: Where is Everybody by Stephan Webb is a fun book about possible solution to the Fermi paradox. great pooper/commuter type book https://www.amazon.com/Universe-Tee...Y/dp/0387955011 cross postin’ from trump thread anyway, it’s a fun book where the author describes 50 possible solutions to the Fermi Paradox which states, “where are they?” he said this to other great physicist while researching at the Manhattan project(? memory foggy) when debating about extraterrestrial life. his reason was roughly (stolen from Wikipedia) -There are billions of stars in the galaxy that are similar to the Sun,[3][4], and many of these stars are billions of years older then the Solar system.[5][6] -With high probability, some of these stars will have Earth-like planets,[7][8] and if the Earth is typical, some might develop intelligent life. -Some of these civilizations might develop interstellar travel, a step the Earth is investigating now. -Even at the slow pace of currently envisioned interstellar travel, the Milky Way galaxy could be completely traversed in a few million years anyone else read it?
