It's funny, as a person who just discovered clubbing and learning to DJ, I realized the type of music for me is super aggressive beat music like instrumental grime, trap, drum n bass, jersey club, or techno. I used to listen really calm or quiet OR overly abrasive music until i realized it was depressive that's not meant to be enjoyed with other people. When I discovered loud dance stuff it was the perfect outlet for letting out all my negative and repressed emotions and being able to enjoy and dance to the sounds that naturally resonate with me. I really like the chill music heavy hitters like com truise, boards of canada, clams casino, chrome sparks etc (also i really loved lemon jelly when i was 11). but its funny how far i've drifted from it. but then, i'll listen to and play so much fast aggressive dancey stuff that i want to 180 and hear something mega chill or quiet like moments in love by art of noise or like, ryuichi sakomoto. and then go in between loud and quiet and play like mariah carey. moods are fun speaking of do you guys like Moments In Love by Art of Noise omg its like the ultimate music composition https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I4d67g8xulQ lmbo calrissian fucked around with this message at 08:22 on Dec 23, 2017 |

I'd like to take this opportunity to derail the thread by sharing a silly mashup track I made that isn't chill at all but fits only what I was talking about. It's we belong together by mariah carey (p chill) set on top of a crazy grime track! https://www.sendspace.com/file/o9jj3p lmbo calrissian fucked around with this message at 11:43 on Jan 2, 2018 |
