This is perhaps an off-the-wall recommendation, but I think the gold standard of chill music is acoustic bossa nova.

The album "Getz/Gilberto" is probably the album most responsible for starting the bossa nova craze of the early sixties in America. It was the first non-American album to win a Grammy award for "Best Album of the Year", and it created the number one hit, "Garota de Ipanema" (translated as The Girl from Ipanema). It's also probably the album I've listened to more than any other.

e: I'm currently listening to this album for the first time in about six months and I've been struck again by a familiar, comforting feeling - something like love. This music is powerfully good
