I have this monster for car camping like a fat american. Two 10k BTU burners, a 5l pot and a 10" frying pan so you can offset any exercise you accidentally did in the outdoors.

that is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen

I’ve only eaten jetboil friendly foods since California does not really allow outdoor cooking in any parks (for obvious reasons) but this setup might be safe enough to go backpacking with.

12 pounds? Screw it, I’ll carry that thing for dozens of miles as long as I get to cook like a king at the end.

because of this anime, I took inventory of my camp gear so that I can check their condition and to look for expired snacks and other camp food to dispose of (by eating it for lunch tomorrow)

All I found was a bottle of camelbak hydration tablets

just have to pitch some tents and then call it a weekend

really wanna try out some of those camp recipes at home then wow the others at the next trip

I love it when anime changes the OP to reflect character growth

reminds me of School Live (which... it must be emphasized... is still kind of slice of life but not chill) ... that seemed to constantly tweak the OP between episodes.

Whether the changes were plot-driven or character development is up to debate and probably not for this thread

I wonder if they’re going to have to deal with bear related stuff like bear boxes or bear canisters. The last episode had mentioned bears in passing, at least.

or if they go the extra mile and try to hang their food, which hardly anyone does (as far as I know)

I have a bear canister that was extra annoying to open in cold weather. It was frustrating since I had spent so much time getting used to opening it at home, only to look like an idiot when doing it in the field.

maybe it’s one of those fake out things like the flying tent and they’re actually sporting new cold weather threads for winter beach camping and cooking a new delicious meal and a guest appearance by metal gear grandpa and a good dog (but I repeat myself).

EDIT: I noticed there were a couple of references and jokes in the Yurucamp about how short the characters were. I assume that was just lampshading anime/magna drawing conventions.

I guess it makes it easier for 2-person tents to actually comfortably house two people with their gear and not just one person

yeah, I just assume that most places don't allow open fires so a jetboil will suffice to cover most cases.

i'm kind of brainlet right now and can't parse what you're illustrating here but when i used to be in boy scouts doing tons of camping our troop (an asian one) would always have both gas propane burners for meal prep along with setting up campfires from scratch. the two times i've gone camping past scouting the gas burner has been a mainstay for both times even if i knew i was going to strike up an actual campfire. it's just convenient to have a stable surface to boil water or whatever without having to pack an entire car's worth of garbage

this was the same case for me, I think. Coleman butane campstoves for cooking, campfire for warming up and making marshmallows.
