I mean basically all of the Fatal Frame games have some ritual where a woman is sacrificed to appease some ancient Japanese rite, and the canon endings are always the worst ones so... Well except for the remake of 2, where you had the ending where Mayu is eternally trapped in the village and keeps Mio's head as her personal doll. Fair warning the remake of 2 is really bad because all of the characters have british accents. In a loving dilapidated rural Japanese village. It's incredibly jarring. Oh yeah gently caress PAULINE she's easily the worst spirit in the game to beat.

I wonder if there's ever going to be a thorough examination of which Spirits can accomplish different tasks in World of Light? I suppose a deep dive into the data would reveal a lot of that, but when there are literally hundreds of Spirits to collect, it can be hard to tell, especially with redunancies like Bomberman and Bomb Man, etc. Either way, it's time to abuse our Spirits and Skills and take Dr. Wily down for good! So uh... Gourmet Race is definitely a bit of a different "flavor" of dungeon in World of Light. The rest (minus Power Plant?) have all been fairly straightforward progressions through battles to get to the end, but this one's a straight-up minigame that would feel just as at home in an actual Kirby game. You know, I've never really played much Castlevania (in fact, the only time I've ever touched it at all was during our SNES Classic Edition series back in December), so I'm glad to see that the fight with Dracula is so accurate to its source material. That's a really cool touch, we're still finding ways to appreciate the attention to detail in World of Light. But that said, that's our second Dark Realm dungeon down, and now we're headed north to the third and final one, complete with yet another Crazy Hand battle!
