daslog posted:2) I like watching his stream, but streamers that hitch their wagon to one game don't tend to last very long. If Im not mistaken he's good at other games, and occasionally plays lol and csgo on stream.

Zaodai posted:The netcode gives the advantage to the lagger, it's some 1992 level poo poo. So yes, being a lagger on a foreign server will make things a little easier on average. The 90s pretty much exclusively favored lower pings. Your gun would not physically register hits or not even fire until the server said you could. The high ping advantages are new and baffling to me.

Zaodai posted:There were plenty of games back in ye olden times that either smoothed things out by waiting for the slowest client (basically given the lagger the appearance of less lag on their end because their client was the closest thing visually to what was happening) or they just straight up made everything clientside with no sanity checking, a la the first Planetside where you could unplug your internet, shoot a bunch of people while disconnected, reconnect and all those shots would register regardless of where the players had actually been at that time. Those are 2000s and later trying to rectify the sins of quake.

What first person shooter with 100 people on one map with thousands of spawned items and vehicles doesn’t run like poo poo? I’ve had a moment of clarity and realized why a big developer hasn’t achieved this yet. It’s loving hard because most computers can’t support it. Get a ssd and 16g of ram and shut up.

Hockles posted:There's your answer. Is mentioning SA at all illegal? Is it because choco's trying to keep the channel wholesome, or because we are stupid jerks? I know we've joked about choco only paying his 10bux to promote, but no one actually cares about that, except for maybe vulgar because he's pretty hard.

Streamers use 400 dpi is for streaming reasons, and nothing to do with gameplay (I think)

Thom P. Tiers posted:It's an extremely good gun, but choco plays thousands of hours and has been able to get extremely good with it. It's a very difficult gun to become extremely good with, and spraying your m4/scar is much easier if you are a somewhat casual player. When I watched choco several months ago, I’m pretty sure m16 was his least favorite AR.
