 Hakumei to Mikochi is a slice of life manga series by Takuto Kashiki about the lives of two inchling women who live in the woods and their various friends. Cooking and making clothes, Canelé, fly fishing, drinking with friends, and going on train rides will be found within. The author does a great job of creating a warm, lived in world populated by interesting characters. It's definitely the show I am looking forward to the most in this season. I can't remember if it's start out slow or not, at least compared to other SOL-like shows, but it certainly is a world and cast I've come to love a lot.

Sweet, something to check out when I get home. On the other hand, I just finished the first episode since it's up on HIDIVE. It's done a bit differently from what a normal anime would look like, but I like it! I also like how they put the world building info from the last page of the manga into the ED, though they can only fit one of the two chapters that way. Still, overall I'm thinking this will be a good adaptation.

Between the panels and very limited animation that felt less like a cartoon and more like a motion manga. Like there's some nice touches but I really didn't like it. I'm kinda a bummed, I was looking forward to this. I suppose I'll read the manga instead.

Second episode is up now. I continue to like it and think the style they're going with works, but I can see how people wouldn't. At the least I hope it draws people to the excellent manga, and possibly to an official English translation. I'm really enjoying the VA work in particular, it's all been great. Does anyone know who the bar lady's VA is?

I'm way over quota for chillax anime this season! The comic style framing and foreground/background unfocusing transitions are kinda weird though. I don't feel like they add enough to what's going on so far.
