The comic style framing and foreground/background unfocusing transitions are kinda weird though. I don't feel like they add enough to what's going on so far.

I don't think they take anything away either. It's different but not bad so I'm ok with it.

After these first two episodes I can see why ppl would be anticipating this. Not only is it absolutely gorgeous, it's relaxed pace makes it a zen experience.
