I will say that going over 40 isn't always bad. The best shifts I have done were 12 hour, alternating 3-4 days a week, where one week was 36 hours and the other was 48(the extra 8 were overtime so time and a half). The pay was good and it meant that I had amazing weekends to do stuff with, and the fact that I have found I don't really decompress on a day where I worked means that I feel no difference between an 8 hour and a 12 hour day.

I don't have kids tho, so that would change things.

i have this issue with the track pad on my precision m6600, but it works fine with a mouse. never did figure out the issue, and it has persisted through multiple os installs and reseating the cable.

I have solaris experience, Linux(RHEL family and, to a lesser degree, debian family and SUSE), and when placed in front of an AIX aptitude test was able to score the highest the recruiter had ever seen despite never having worked with it.

If you know one UNIX, the rest seem to be pretty easy since the basic concepts are the same.

Even tho not every length of cable has the same color pairs? I've seen spools that used red instead of brown, and other spools where it was almost impossible to tell the difference between brown and orange. This was all certified cable.

Full disclosure, I'm a sysadmin, so I have never cabled a data center. I've only ever run cable in someones home.

I like thank you emails. Had a customer call me "bruddah" once. Made my day.

Its technically the last word, simply because so many places require a response to every email/ticket update. Every time someone sends a thanks, you have to reply just because it counts against you if you don't(yes, i have spent too much of my life doing front line public tech support, why do you ask?)

This. I would clarify that it didn't in this case, but is likely to in the future as that is a amazingly terrible place to put anything that uses electricity
