I had somebody email me on Christmas morning complaining that their home printer wasn't working. I was out of the country, and more than happy to ignore her and let my autoreply inform her to email helpdesk@companyname.com (she still hasn't).

My teammate is trying to replace an HDD with an SSD in a PowerEdge T310. Problem is, the mounting bracket offsets the SSD from the SATA plugs, see this pic comparing it with an HDD: Is there a suitable bracket or another solution? EDIT: It looks like this might do the trick: https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Mounting-Bracket-drive-CSSD-BRKT1/dp/B0090UG55A TITTIEKISSER69 fucked around with this message at 17:41 on Feb 22, 2018 |

This ain't a desktop computer, it's gotta connect to a backplane. In any case, I ended up doing this: https://www.tachytelic.net/2014/05/installing-2-5-ssd-3-5-dell-drive-caddy/ However the RAID controller doesn't recognize it. Back to the drawing board.

Reminds me of that 'ghost story' of the phone tech that goes up into the attic and is never seen again. Later another phone company van shows up, one guy gets out and gets in the first tech's van, then they both drive off.

Could be either the machine that the user is RDP-ing into, or the one being used to connect via RDP that's blue-screening.

In my company, the upper level sales people get a laptop with one dock, and one charger to travel with. Since we're switching from Dell's E-Port Replicator to the USB-C docking stations (the D6000), we're also phasing in newer laptops that can charge by USB-C. So it's only the users who have an older laptop with a newer dock (say because their old dock died) that need an extra charger. Otherwise, those with a BD fund can also buy their own extra charger.

Will BLOCK the sender now. Thank you - as it looked suspect.'" That was an in-ticket conversation between the user and someone else. I then assigned myself the ticket, close it with the note "No action needed", and then the user replies with the following which reopens the ticket: "HANDLED - no need for a call"

We reworded our close email shortly after that. Just had a guy do that a few weeks ago, until I emailed him and bluntly told him to stop (and why). He got the message after that. His title is "Vice Chairman"
