Just putting this out there: traveling solo can be pretty fun too, especially if you want to get your mind off things But, yeah, that's lovely. I'm sorry to hear that.

Cool thing about museums: sometimes the small out-of-the-way ones have some really interesting and idiosyncratic collections, and they are often more pleasant to visit than "destination museums" because they aren't packed with people constantly.
