This is pages late but someone was asking about The Athletic.

I'm two days into it and I think it's fantastic. The big thing I like about it so far are that the stories are written to entertain, not to make you click something. I finish reading articles there and I feel entertained, or enlightened, or.... well, not mad or sad or angry or scared or any of the other things that free news/sports sites are constantly bombarding onto their readers in hopes of hooking them into clicking more stories that were hastily put together to back a headline like "IS THE WORLD ENDING TOMORROW?!?!" I didn't realize how much of a bog that junk can put on a person until I spent half an hour clicking around stories there and walked away from my computer like I had been out for a leisurely walk for that time, rather than all tensed up mad about some hot take I just got shoved down my throat.

There's lots of 50% off deals floating around out there if you look hard enough, it's good for filling 10-15 minutes here or there and I'm excited to see how it grows.

I can see being down on this recent run of the podcast, because this "homer podcast as a conference preview" thing has been real real bad. I didn't even like their Texas one. The Michigan one was the only good one. But that clearly didn't have anything to do with Holly, she fits right in.

The Michigan one was good but it was really strange to do that without even mentioning Michigan State or Ohio State, though that may be because they didn't feel like joking about those schools with their recent issues.

I liked Infohorns and Hardcore Cornography. The rapidly changing SEC West ones were pretty funny. Wait Wait Don't Hell Me was excruciating in a funny way.
