I have vague memories of Plaxico Burress and the Citrus Bowl victory after Saban left. My first MSU game in person was when they got destroyed by Kyle Boller's Cal team and it turned out Jeff Smoker had substance abuse issues afterward. Sparty No defeatism was ingrained early.

Reminder that Bill O'Brien turned Matt McGloin into the beat QB in the conference in one season. Harbaugh and his staff and the team's talent level are pretty far below Ohio State and Penn State at this point. The Big Ten has had some terrible QB years but when was McGloin the best in the league at any point?
