The age of 14 is by what other people have told her so it could likely vary upwards by any amount. What it really is :iiam:

I take it as her recalling a time her age came up years ago. I could almost buy fourteen in some of the war flashbacks.

Hmm--pacing feels as bit off like we're rushing a lot of chapter all at once.

Tough to say as so much of the show has had nothing at all to do with the novel.

The finale was pretty much as expected but apparently there's enough novel material left that they could use it to start a season 2.

I feel like this is where it should end though. Violet's journey is complete unless they decide Gilbert's alive after all which would be silly.

(Big novel spoilers)

yes he lives in the book but the show pushed him being dead a lot harder so it'd be a bit too fairy tale that he lived at all.

It keeps getting brought up in this thread, so can someone in the know say how exactly the anime differed from the LNs?

The anime was a good 70-80% original content only using the premise of the book.

Basically it's telling its own story from after Violet meets the Evergarden family in the first episode except for the flashbacks which are mostly accurate to parts of the book.
