Woza had way more energy than Halep and that’s what made the difference. Hale was more offensive but had been on court for an extra match worth of time.

I unironically think Simona’s non-moisture wicking dress played a role in her loss. #dressgate

That pre tournament bet I put on Wozniacki paid off :toot:

I was thinking if Sloane Stephens can win a slam then why not someone who can do everything better than her?

I always forget that Stephens won a Slam, even though it happened, like, last month. What's her record since the US Open? 0-10? 0-20?

edit:

Thoroughly enjoyed the final. Good for Wozniacki to finally win one of the big trophies.

0-7. Not as bad as you were suggesting!

drat. Wozniacki played the better match but Halep has nothing to be ashamed of. This wasn’t Roland Garros Part 2. She hung in there.

Well, they get very hot in the polyester. You know, it's not a natural fibre.

And the mercy seat is awaiting,
And I think my head is burning,
And in a way I'm yearning,
To be done with all this measuring of proof.
An eye for an eye

And anyway I told the truth,
And I'm not afraid to die.
Federer likely to get the 1/4 to kick off his dream of Rod Laver calender again.

He actually has a legit chance since all the people who could beat him on clay are injured: Nadal, Djokovic, Wawrinka, and Murray.

I wonder if he’ll play if Nadal is still out

Was talking to my dad recently about the best player of this era who is most likely to be forgotten with time and we ended up agreeing it was most likely to be Robin Soderling. "I coulda been a contender" comes to mind a lot.

Will Federer bother playing clay? Federer is saving his energy for important events and clay is harsh on the body. He isn't going to play a full calendar.

Cornflakes
Dec 3, 2006

Yeah, I believe he’s already mentioned in interviews that he’s skipping clay again this year. Makes complete sense. But if the French draw is wide open...

The past year has been so crazy I’ll believe anything is possible

But don’t believe poo poo I say. Here’s my first post from this thread:

quote:

-Kerber looked solid at Sydney, it would be great if she did well
-Of people who haven't won a slam yet, Svitolina looks the best without a doubt lol
-Interested to see how Keys has adjusted after falling apart at the US Open
-I still don't think Wozniacki will ever win a slam LOL

-Can Sascha Zverev finally make it past Week 1? I'm skeptical but we'll see
-Of all the men returning from injuries, I have the most faith in Wawrinka lol

As far as predictions go I am the Bill Kristol of tennis

I think Mac just said it was 107 with humidity, which is comparable or even better than last week when they kept it open. I know they said earlier it’s in the low 70s with the roof

Pardon my ignorance but why would they ever keep the roof open when it's over 100f?

good question. i think they call it based on humidity + heat and maybe it was drier last week when the sun was blazing hot?
