I'm going to try to join in on Inktober with my amateur hour skills. My first two entries for the month so far:

Thanks for the kind words, Sharpest Crayons. Anyways, my entry into the third day actually ended up giving ideas for a friend who is also doing Inktober, so she did something similar. I can actually say my art has inspired someone.

Anyways, Roasted

I'm super stoked, managed to get through all of Inktober on time, though I was at one point more than a week behind. Anyways, I haven't paid much attention to drawing as a hobby (usually I'm just doodling or sketching when I'm bored), but I do want to work on it more as my apartment is short on space needed for me to work on other hobbies. Anyways, I really like seeing people post pose/model studies and I kinda want to do that to practice as well. This probably sounds like a dumb question, but is there a source for nude models/references, or do you just draw pictures of porn, or a bit of both?

To contribute, here's probably my favorite sketch from Inktober for "Prickly"

I need to get on drawing daily. Right now it's been more like weekly. I followed the advice from here and started doing some figure drawing from Croquis Cafe on YouTube, but I did manage to also find a bi-weekly live session in my city that's open to the public more or less. I'll be going for the first time this coming Saturday after Thanksgiving, so kinda stoked.

Otherwise, I am kind of curious what other people's methods (tactics?) are. I had done two before and I guess on my own I kinda of try to draw the outline of the figure, using some skeletal elements for arms and such. I watched a quick tutorial that talked about using sort of a stick figure frame and decided to try that. Usually when I draw something I do use a skeletal foundation to build up, but I hadn't been doing that for the figure sketching because the poses in the videos are 1 minute, 2 minute, and 5 minute, which is quite quick-paced for me. I feel like doing an outline and trying to draw the figure works better for 1 or 2 minutes, but I feel the skeletal figure helps to actually define the pose more. Here's what I did today just to compare:

Trying to draw the form:

Drawing the "frame":

I know these are really basic compared to what other people draw here (I feel like I'm posting stick figures), but I'm not really used to trying to draw with such short time.

I've taken to using my phone to draw while I'm on the MRT. I'm not very confident in drawing digitally, and drawing on my phone on a moving train doesn't exactly help. But, I've downloaded some proper apps, and I also recently got Procreate on my iPad to play around with. Otherwise...

I also bought a thing and am starting to question my decisions in life:

I quit my job, but there's paperwork issues keeping me from starting my new job. So I drew a naked person.

A while back I discovered three places in my city that have life drawing/gesture/figure sessions. Two happen during the week and I couldn't attend because I worked evenings. Last one was at a Czech bar on Saturdays, but they had apparently stopped hosting a few months back. Being funemployed, I was able to do this one. I went in prepared to do fast poses, but instead tonight's was a single pose for 80 minutes. I ended up drawing the same pose 4 times, and this is the 4th sketch (and only one done in ink). I feel like I need more work on anatomy, as proportions always seemed off; and also faces as I feel like I'm just drawing animu faces that look nothing like the model. Tomorrow will be quick poses and I'll be heading back.

Otherwise, dicking around in digital, here's fan art of a goon who was ordered by his doctor to behead a cat:

Working on a fan art that's not Pokemon...

I feel like maybe I made them a bit skinny. And small hands. I think I'll try to throw it into Procreate to color it, debating whether I should color the sketch.

Did some live art drawing. I feel like 5 minutes is my sweet spot and if I have too much time I get bogged down in details and start loving up my anatomy...

Anyways:
5 minutes

Here's a 10 minute pose I started to redraw...

I liked how this 20 minute pose turned out, though I didn't completely finish the model's left hand, though I thought I had enough time to try drawing her face larger.

The other 20 minute pose. It doesn't look like a 20 minute drawing because I erased the whole drat thing at 15 minutes in and started over because long torso and short legs. I apparently have issues with poses that are side-on and whelp, guess where I got to sit two weeks in a row...
