his approval ratings were in the shitter when he left office because, among other things, of how transparently he and the rest of the government were covering for the cops that kidnapped and murdered all those schoolkids a few years ago. also was generally perceived as corrupt as gently caress. i would think that the fact that he solicitied a nine-figure bribe from el chapo would be completely unsurprising to mexicans i know one of the core tenants of neoliberalism is that hideously criminal politicians in the west have a standing super-pardon where they arent even accused of crimes (see: bush, george) and amlo's government actually prosecuting epn, like he has a mandate to do, would be incredible

Instead, it's all coming by truck which means less fuel in general. The gov't is trying to attack it from both ends, both reducing the access the thieves have to their sources and trying to pursue them more aggressively.
