BrutalistMcDonalds posted:pemex is still nationalized right? is there some other U.S.-owned industry you can nationalize? well whatever it is, vote AMLO and nationalize that poo poo. nieto didn't privatize pemex but he did end its monopoly. this happened right as oil crashed to 20 bucks a barrel, so basically no one bothered to go in and compete with pemex lol One of my dad's friends (whose a gringo obv) has connections with some extremely rich mexicans and was somehow set to make millions off this deal for doing as far as I can tell nothing aside for having rich mexican friends. instead he ended up losing a shitload of money when it all fell apart and was fired for roping in his boss into it all apparently.

Sure, but reading it by someone who is using it semi-pejoratively is special. AMLO has a lot of support in the indigenous and rural community, but a lot of his supporters in his Mexico City protest were young urban people.

they don't need to be unified, just acknowledge that it's in their common interests i wouldn't put it past them

My brother asked me if I'm voting for AMLO because he doesn't trust "Latin American leftists." He studied in Monterrey, which is a privileged, light-skinned, neoliberal paradise, so his brain is a bit rotten. Also, his husband is a middle-class guero from Venezuela whose family hated Chavez. Anywho, here's a picture of the bois:

rudatron posted:they don't need to be unified, just acknowledge that it's in their common interests it would mean declaring open war on the mexican goverment. even if the ruling party opposed the candidate they off they would have to respond of risk a complete delegitimization of the state. i dont see how the cartels would risk so much for such a nebulous gain unless we were talking of something like full legalization of all drugs which is not happening anytime soon

there's a running theory that jfk was assassinated through the mafia, so i imagine probably a similar deal? find someone who's up to their eyeballs in debt and promise not to cutt their balls off and the genitals of their extended family and neighbors if they just murder the president rudatron has issued a correction as of 20:18 on Feb 9, 2018 |

some rich guy will probably just straight up buy an assassination from some cartel, the cartel will make sure to get plausible deniability by picking someone 'mentally unstable', and the cover will work because the police won't bother investigating it, and you'll get other fascist/reactionary politicians running interference. then, if they get captured, you shoot them before they can be interrogated. if they die on the job, all the better.

My cousin Mando crosses illegally at least once a quarter lol He's a big dude, going on 300 pounds, I don't know how he does it, but he's crossed at least 10 times in the last 2 years. There are so many people like him, people who don't want to live here, but enjoy coming over to visit family and chill. He spends about half the year in Mexico and the other half in Texas.

there are so many small towns along the texas border that i imagine it's as easy as just paying somebody. the CBP isn't really on the up and up. from what i saw in el paso / juarez you get a group to pelt a border patrol SUV with rocks and then when reinforcements show up, the group that's crossing dashes through the newly opened gaps in their patrol zone. reinforcements gotta come from somewhere.

The border is just so goddamn big too. There are grassy places along the Rio Grande where you can row a small craft for just a couple minutes and be on the other side, all under cover from reeds and poo poo.
