When starting out on the cab replacement for my FJ45, I specifically made sure that swapping over the vin plate was legal here in Ontario. Some level of tomfoolery is allowed, it would seem. I was required to document it and nothing more. Was told the vin plate must remain with the chassis if the body is going byebye. The old cab got crushed by snow two winters ago and we scrapped it last year.
