I'd like to think his pettiness stems in part from the fact that promoting younger drivers somehow hinders his ability to run the lower series. I still think this is the best way to describe the points system:

Good insight both here from Jeff Gluck about Kyle Busch's comments and how the now-"veteran" drivers are less apt to hustle like the younger drivers do because they were brought in when NASCAR was thriving (as well as NASCAR's marketing strategy overall): http://jeffgluck.com/media-tour-day-3-to-promote-or-not-to-promote/DEMAG posted:There was such a weird aura at the track when BZF showed up randomly at Richmond last April. The telephone game circled fast all over the track in anticipation of his comments. Some thought we were going to get bad title sponsor news. Some thought he was going to step down or make some new appointment in the inner circle. I was with Gluck and Pockrass when word came down he was going to do a presser and Jeff just goes "uh oh, that's unexpected." When BZF took the stage he rambled on about driver attitude and and making them more appealing, and reiterated the sport is healthy everything is good in the face of departing sponsors and dwindling viewership. He had zero prepared statement. He literally sat down to the media pool and was like "What up dudes. Say hi to my six year old." ...and in this post.

Joey Logano is between the benches with Brian Boucher for tonight's Flyers/Capitals game, which is apparently a Daytona 500 promotion. The game is on NBC, which doesn't cover the 500. I don't think I've ever seen that sort of cooperation in NASCAR- you didn't even see that in the NFL until a couple years ago.

In case you missed it, Yahoo's fantasy NASCAR game is history. Searching for alternatives, I've found two: NASCAR Fantasy Live Much like we've been playing with a set number of starts for drivers each season. It also has a pick the pole winner element for bonus points: https://fantasygames.nascar.com/live/picks FOX Fantasy Auto This is the same model as the IndyCar game for those familiar. If you're not, it's pick five drivers and stay under the salary cap: https://www.foxsports.com/fantasy/auto/help/ Thoughts? fake edit- We may have no choice- it sounds like the FOX game may not be coming back, either.

Ok, since Yahoo Fantasy is dead, I made a new Fantasy thing on NASCAR.com. Password is sascar: https://fantasygames.nascar.com/live/league/sascar-yahoo-fantasy-refugee-camp This works basically the same as Yahoo except it's 10 starts per driver and, in a fun new twist, you can swap out drivers between your roster and bench between Stages if you so choose. quote:For 2018, Fantasy Live has changed from a salary cap game to a model that allows a limited use of each Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series™ driver over the course of a season. Each participant may only use a particular driver a maximum of ten (10) times per Team over the course of the entire Game Period. Bonus points categories are: quote:For bonus points, participants will need to select their Pole Winner, Stage 1 Winner, Stage 2 Winner, Winning Driver and Car Manufacturer predictions each week.

FOX redid their scoring graphics to be more in line with the current package used for the NFL/NHL and it is very, very . And by that, I mean it's awful. I'm filling out a lineup for the new Fantasy game- there are no A, B, or C Lists, but the entire field is up for grabs every week. Pick 5 plus a bench driver who can be swapped into the race later. grasping at straws on the C-list once you used the few decent drivers. big nipples big life posted:I've never played a fantasy sport before but I'll try it this year. The way the Yahoo game was set up was you'd pick 1 starter from the "A" list (basically top 12 in points from the previous year), 2 from the "B" list (bottom of the top tier of drivers and midpackers), and then 1 from the "C" list (rookies and backmarkers). The NASCAR.com game (the new one we're playing) doesn't have those, rather just 10 starts for everybody, but you could approach the game the Yahoo way to manage the number of starts you get for each driver. big nipples big life posted:http://www.espn.com/jayski/cup/2018/story/_/id/22417989/could-nascar-sale Don't quite know what to make of this. Did I see correctly that the margin of victory yesterday was 0.000 seconds and that the race was decided in at least ten-thousandths of a second? A Good Race. It's crazy how GWC takes what looks like it could be a disastrous spin and winds up making it a good finish after all (SRA yesterday, Gordon going from 30th to 6th at Daytona in 2011).
