There’s a house on my way into town that has one of those massive skeletons out. It’s pretty creepy to see at dusk. Down the street from there, there’s a bunch of normal sized skeletons holding hanging plants. Both of these early Halloween decorations make me smile.

We called that “passive resistance” when I dog groomed a couple of decades ago. One of my coworkers was a poly-sci major, so it included the political connotations when we laughed at good dogs for just really not wanting to do whatever we were asking them to do. Guess it should have been “pawsive resistance”.

When Sissel was still a kitten, she had to fall asleep while laying on top of me, staring me in the eye, and being petted. Stopping the pets before she was asleep lead to her standing up to make sure I was looking at her, meowing, then booping me on the mouth or eye. So we did this every night. Then, once asleep, she was out and I could move her over to the other pillow and get to sleep. She would not move for hours. Just so asleep. I'd often check to make sure she was still breathing if I woke up a few hours later.
