What's that coloring called, looks like marble

The last one? Looks like a dilute calico or red patch tabby and white.

The one that is all orange and black marbled is a tortoiseshell, or tortie for short. Once white is thrown in, they become a calico. That color combination is only found on an XX combo of chromosomes, so it is very rare for cats presenting as male to have calico or tortoiseshell coloring and is indicative of a sex chromosome abnormality. Like Klinefelter syndrome in humans.

I have a mental catalog of dog and cat colors, although I’m sure I’m missing a few, because I am weird and used to work with animals.

There are also several specific names for tabby marking patterns.

However, the top part you can probably get in people sizes.

I like the spiral catwalks. I also can never find the video with two cats chasing eachother around a mushroom themed cat room, with mushrooms on the wall and ceiling. But I’m always jealous of those even though none of my cats are spry enough to make use of those, anymore. They would have been pretty sweet when they were young though.

Also, I figured someone who lives there is rehabbing that raccoon kit or something since it was cool with being held even though it was uncomfortable and only went after a hair clip. No accidentally catching skin or otherwise injuring the human kit.

I figured out that the only way to post the embed link here from my iPhone is to upload the video in the app, post the link it gives me here. Then open the link in Safari from here, hold down on the video there so that I can get the regular URL. No, you can’t just open the link in Safari from the Imgur app and copy from there. It’s going to give you a url that you still can’t easily change to embed. (Sorry, I really hate when something should be easy, like Imgur was when it first started, and it becomes convoluted just to do something simple). I have not tried opening the link after pasting into notes, which may be just as effective as pasting it here to open in Safari.

And obviously the other two are awesome, since there was no hamming up the music making, which is impressive for kids. Just good music. But I probably still would have only listened to 30 seconds before switching to something else if not for the stuntman mermaid in the back there.

I feel very bad seeing the little kid cry, even though the puppeteer moved on after realizing the kid was still terrified after he talked and offered his arm spike to her. Although the other video with the tiny, future-paleontologist is truly blessed.

Cats and sleep are a very #blursed combination. I used to have a cat that would sleep on me a lot of the time, and it was a very mixed feeling. On the one hand, there's nothing better than having a purring cat snuggle up on you. On the other, I toss and turn a lot while getting to sleep, and a cat lying on top of you gets old fast when all you want to do is roll on your side for a while. The best case was when she'd move to sleeping beside me so I could shift around without disturbing her too much.

When Sissel was still a kitten, she had to fall asleep while laying on top of me, staring me in the eye, and being petted. Stopping the pets before she was asleep lead to her standing up to make sure I was looking at her, meowing, then booping me on the mouth or eye. So we did this every night. Then, once asleep, she was out and I could move her over to the other pillow and get to sleep. She would not move for hours. Just so asleep. I'd often check to make sure she was still breathing if I woke up a few hours later.

I'm not going to bother looking up the exact source but I remember reading a story or tweet or whatever of a trans person meeting Pratchett at a signing decades ago and introducing themselves with with their deadname at first (because they hadn't transitioned fully yet iirc?) but asking him to sign it to their chosen name. When asked why they told him they thought they were trans but were still in the process and that was what their true name was going to be. Terry replied along the lines of "Well, I'm honored to have been one of the first people to meet the real you." :3:

Terry Pratchett isn't just one of my favourite authors. He's one of my favourite people, up there with saints like Mr. Rogers. Truly #blessed.

I still use his audiobooks (Celia Imrie, Nigel Planer and Stephen Briggs are amazing, they really capture the tone and humor of the books. I don't know how I feel about the new ones yet, it feels overly produced and I don't like how they do the footnotes) to fall asleep to almost every night because they're engaging enough to quiet my ADHD mind, while also being familiar enough to be able to nod off to without missing too much, and every time I discover new jokes, new insights, have a new appreciation for clever or beautiful phrasing, etc.

Watching his documentary on assisted dying broke my heart, knowing what was coming, but it was also really well done and beautiful.

I strongly suggest the updated recording witches books. I feel like Indira Varma has magic of her own (metaphorically, I don’t actually believe in magic) and she catches all the jokes, unlike the dude who is reading the watch books, talented though he is.

I’m pretty sure she found an extra joke Pratchett didn’t realize he made in the Shepherd’s Crown.

That said, I only have the Briggs’ recordings and have no clue how good Imrie is.

Edit: sorry, I got unreasonably excited about more of Pratchett being awesome and responded to an old post. But I’m gonna leave it here anyway.
