His only problem was that he talked about going after Nassar before charging him. The officers were ready to grab him. Could've gotten a good swing or two in if he had that extra second. https://twitter.com/Local4News/status/959432226214735872

Also not to paint with broad strokes, but it's safe to assume that a man with multiple daughters in high-level gymnastics is probably among the worst people in the world, at least top 10% (albeit not the worst person in that room at that time).

You'll have a hard time convincing me that every homeschooled kid I ever met wasn't a weirdo with social problems in always the same kind of way, and the ones whose parents hired special trainers for the fringe sports weren't a distinct subset. You know that guy's just extra angry because he ignored his daughters' hints that they didn't want to be doing all the activities he was pressuring them into doing. Going violent with the guilt doesn't make him world's greatest dad to me. the way people fetishize extrajudicial punishment ("hell yeah now the bad guy will get BEATEN and RAPED in jail!!") is somewhere between childish and evil

I get where Evan is coming from since so many victims did tell their parents and their parents ignored them or outright accused them of lying, but it's dumb to assume that about every one when there are 250 victims.

That means he won't be held in contempt of court. A prosecutor could still charge him with assault. Frankly, it would be warranted. I empathize with Charging Father because of what he has gone through, but he violently attacked someone in a courtroom full of people who were victims of a violent male attacker. He probably scared some people out of their minds, in a setting and situation where they are quite vulnerable. Hey look - it's another man who can't control himself and thinks he's allowed to attack people because "I want to".

"Don't worry girls, papa sunk his fists into the guy who was already going to prison for the rest of his life so now everything else that happened is made okay" and then maybe while you were in jail overnight starting to wonder if you might've broken your hand, maybe then you'd start to wonder what Nassar's lawyers could do for his sentencing if they could argue that the court was impartial or functioning improperly because it deliberately brought in his accusers' relatives and allowed them to attack him...

He's right. Punching people because they wronged you is just another facet of the toxic male behavior that enables an athletic department to prioritize sporting success over busting a rapist. It's still a male trying to feel powerful by taking someone else's well being into his own hands.
