Also had the group that preyed on the fear of the other so they essentially were monstrous stereotypes.

I'm down for forgetting that just like I try to forget Exalted being bad enough to end up on our own front page.

I think that might be the most damaging book Whitewolf ever did. It actually has some really good mechanics so people are more inclined to actually use the book. It showed an alternate way to do charms/splats that proved that the rest of the line was complete garbage when it came to Exalts. Luckily some of the salvageable stuff was moved to Third edition which has problems but is a step up from what came before.

Looks like Critical role employs 32 different people so the money is not just going to a handful of people.

One thing that we can agree on was the White Wolf campaign where they said people should try a better more balanced game… Exalted Second Edition was not a good idea.

We live in the Critical Role world where one of the characters was really good with guns so it's not surprising they're introducing firearms as standard.

Mercer's rules for them are better but still have issues. They do have equivalent stats to ranged weapons, usually one die type nicer or an improved max range. They cost a lot more gold and have the misfire rule which is a lot better then the old "explode on a one" but still can be frustrating as hell in play.

quote:

Misfire. Whenever you make an attack roll with a firearm, and the dice roll is equal to or lower than the weapon’s Misfire score, the weapon misfires. The attack misses, and the weapon cannot be used again until you spend an action to try and repair it. To repair your firearm, you must make a successful Tinker’s Tools check (DC equal to 8 + misfire score). If your check fails, the weapon is broken and must be mended out of combat at a quarter of the cost of the firearm. Creatures who use a firearm without being proficient increase the weapon’s misfire score by 1.

Critical Role did a one-shot Tears of the Kingdom game session sponsored directly by Nintendo:

I'm not bringing this up to argue about whether or not CritRole should be taking that money, but I do wonder what it means when Nintendo starts leveraging TTRPG content creators to promote their IPs. Possibly doing an interest check ahead of exploring more tabletop gaming licensing?

(But oh god I dread the idea of an Official Nintendo TTRPG game rolling out given how they protect their IPs the way an enraged swan protects its pond.)

It could be because Mercer voiced Ganondorf in the game. They have done one shots of a couple different video games they voice acted in.

Lucas is a nerd. Amazing at worldbuilding, and at knowing what the tech of the time was capable of and who put together an amazing team. And who sucks at naturalistic dialogue, creating tension (no, Luke didn't just get a second chance at the Death Star - it was originally just hanging there in space to be swung at as often as necessary; the plan was added in editing over a CGI piece added in the edit, and the firing sequence was an alternate take for Alderaan), and understanding emotions actors are showing. One of the things about film making is it's a team effort and Lucas made a larger contribution than most. Until he became The Great George Lucas when he made an outsize contribution that showed his weaknesses,

Didn't he ask around for other people to direct the prequels for him but no one agreed to it? Granted it could have been no one wanted to be the person that ruined Star Wars, but it could also be the conditions Lucas gave. Do like how the prequils and the sequels are bad movies in completely different ways.

Bill Murray is oddly well-liked for a complete rear end in a top hat

Recently there has been some pushback after people complained about times he was a dick to them a while ago. (Seth Green talked about how Murry threw him in a trashcan as a joke when he was nine among other stores) Not full blown "canceling" but did lower the hype about him.

GB 2016 also had way too many random cameos.

Whenever an original cast member appeared the movie completely stopped dead for a good minute. Movie also looked like it was completely changed in editing.

Is this Gamegate 2?

Wasn’t that the time when people discovered content consulting firms existed and assumed big publishers would do what they said?
