It's always guesswork whether I beat an equivalent force numerically - that fees unsatisfying still. In part the reason I loved that war I just fought was because this wasn't the case. I put a listening post on my border Starfort and I was able to see a shitload of intel on my rival.

There's no rally points anymore because military ships can't exist except as fleet members (or traveling to a fleet), and the fleet is the rally point.

Just wanna say that building a dedicated fleet yards starbase and calling it like "Trimus Fleet Yards" and making GBS threads out six ships at a time from it to reinforce a fleet really quickly is extremely good & cool.

Real e; Ignorant Hick posted:What are the best ways for dealing with unrest on conquered planets now that you can't cram planets full of assault armies? I just finished my first war against a 3 planet empire that made the poor choice of sharing my planet class so I set them to get purged. Even with a basic defensive building manned by one of my pops, a slave processing facility, and the police state civic their former capital has well over 100 unrest. I have enough energy credits banked to maybe resettle enough of them around my empire to lower it enough, but I'd like to know if there's a better way than wiping out my cash reserves. Martial Law planetary edict can help keep things under control while you build up a better solution. As it stands though, yeah, it seems like new conquests filled with unhappy newly-enslaved pops are really hard to keep a lid on (which is great imo), I kept some assault armies on hand to shore up defenses when a rebellion occurred. Sure you'll have overwhelming forces in a given system, but you'll have a bunch of zippy little buggers going all over the shop faster than you can keep on top of them. So question, is there a guide anywhere to how to make a static map? Like the one in New Horizons for example? I'm vaguely toying with the idea of making a mod that tries to fulfill the 'set galaxy' request people often expressed but I'd kind of need to know how2map first. I figure I can reverse engineer it from the Trek mod if needed but a proper guide would be easier.

I'd have thought that the presence of a genocidal race's massive empire would always be a constant threat to empires, encouraging them to ally up. Threat does dissipate if I'm remembering right, but being a space rear end in a top hat will cause plenty of other anger (Border friction, opinion penalties for being xenophobic/slavery policy/etc., additional reducing-over-time penalties from genocides or the like) and most of these things take decades to go away, plus mutual rival diplo bonuses can help people ally up. It's not perfect and diplo needs work for sure, but that particular issue is not a major one.

Seems like the quickest messy solution to AI resource problems is to just stop buildings from suppressing resources. I think I've even seen a mod floating around that does just that, though whether for that particular objective I don't know.
