Renault invented the Minivan. The Espace predates the Chrysler one by a few months IIRC. Although if we are getting technical the Type-1 by VW was the first Minivan, and Chevrolet had the Greenbrier. The Japanese also had passenger versions available of their commercial vans available forever.
