Gunbroker may be your best option, but I don't know if there's a collector's market for them. Definitely don't shoot it without being super careful about ammunition, they were proofed for black powder, not smokeless, so using modern ammo in them can make them grenade.

Yeah, makes sense then. I mean, I'm fat these days myself thanks to a desk job and my old drinking habits, but I'm also single so it's just me. One of the biggest things that has ever murdered a relationship I've been in was sexual incompatibility. If one person just can't be arsed, and the other would like to be in more than a business relationship with cohabitation, the relationship isn't going to last. It's good that it doesn't, because life is too short to be miserable over situations you can change.

When you die, everyone pretty much thinks of the assets and who gets what. That's the easy part.

What if you are alive but incapacitated, what are your wishes/personal directives? Heroic measures? DNR? If you kick it, what do you want done with your body? Traditional North American burial? Cremation? Eco friendly? Donate it for science? Do you care? Who is deciding this? Do you have enough cash in your estate to pay for your wishes? If not, then what? The funeral home isn't going to want to keep your body on ice until assets are liquidated and cash is available.

If you are married or common law, you're *probably* going to want to leave everything to your spouse (and vice versa) and let them be executor/power of attorney, but not necessarily.

Especially if you are single, someone has to take control and go through your poo poo, as in your actual, physical stuff in addition to bank accounts. If you get hit by a bus, do you really want your mom or dad to go through your personal effects (which is *everything* - including your collection of 70s hair porn in the back of your closet) Best friend? Do they even live in the same city as you? The person you think you want to do this - do they actually have the time to do this? Do you really want your kid sister that has 3 toddlers and an abusive alcoholic husband have to deal with this? Your senior citizen parents? What do you want done with the personal effects that are almost worthless? Are they personally cleaning out your house/apartment? What about your social media accounts? Does anyone have immediate access to your bank accounts to keep your estate running while this gets figured out? Do they know where to find the info they'll need? Do you have any insurance? Life or otherwise? If they can't get easy access to your accounts, do they have the financial ability to take time off work and look after everything as this gets sorted out? If something comes up that needs to get paid (like aforementioned funeral) - do they have the resources to do so?

Also, and this is the stuff that people forget, your estate is still going to be in existence for a while to wrap everything up. Just because you are dead doesn't mean Visa or other creditors don't get their money. Your taxes (yes, income taxes with the added bonus of estate taxes) still need to be done. Who is doing that? If you have a house and house insurance, who is paying the premiums? Who is watching the house? Who is paying the taxes? Do you have a mortgage? Who's dealing with them? Does the insurance company need someone to monitor the house to retain coverage? Who is dealing with your utilities? Your estate needs to go through probate and the courts. Who is driving that bus? The same guy that you want to get all your stuff? Do they know that? Does this person get paid for dealing with all this? Lots of paperwork. It's a big responsibility. Everything needs to be documented. If you don't have a will, this is far more painful and slow than it need be as everything needs to be approved by the courts (as in literally, going to the courts) and there is a good chance the person trying to deal with all your poo poo has never had to do it before. My sister-in-laws took more than a year and we had the help of the bank she worked for, which thankfully did estate planning (although she didn't get her poo poo together on her own and left it to her family to deal with it). A co-workers sister passed away intestate almost 2 years ago, and my he is STILL loving around with her estate getting poo poo straightened out, although there is finally some light at the end of the tunnel for that one.... and that is with the help of a lawyer.

Yeah, I need to update mine now that I have actual assets.

I come from the depths of a decade on night shift to warn you.... it will not help. You have to have some iron loving sleep discipline to survive on 3rd, because your wife's going to want you to get up and do stuff with her in the evenings before work, and all your friends are going to assume that working nights means you haven't got anything to do in the evenings so they should call you to do stuff at what your body thinks is 2am.

I want to die if I have to be awake all day at any point because it means I'll be exhausted all night for a few days while my body freaks out at me for getting off the cycle.

Same here, back in the early 90's. Transferred from a rural rear end school to the suburbs due to a custody change in middle school, got poo poo for a couple months and then hauled off and slugged the worst offender when he stole my book. Got suspended, and got my rear end kicked after school by his friends, but was absolutely worth it for the look on his face.

Yeah, like IOC says, it looks more like the Uber dashcam's just got really lovely light balance than any alteration. That's part of why I'm so angry at it, as the human operator would have much clearer sightlines than the video suggests, and the dark should be no problem for the sensor suite on that vehicle if configured as advertised.

I don't want to be the "I can put your car in the back of my pickup truck" guy of dog breeds with my 85lb lab/shepherd mix, but even my family's 18lb whippet was bred to hunt rabbits that are about the same size as the ideal Yorkshire terrier

Even when you look at what yorkies are supposed to do, they're just not good dogs. They're supposed to be ratting dogs, but considering their hosed up jaws, spines, legs, eyes, and their entire, poorly functioning respiratory systems; my money is on the rats every day

If you feel the need for a small terrier, just get a Schnauzer. They'll have a vastly better temperment and personality than 99.9% of Yorkies.

Personally we had a mini dachshund who lived to 18, and my in laws just had to put their German short hair pointer down last week and she was 14. Pure bred doesnt automatically mean health issues, it's a breeder issue usually.

Our other two dogs are both purebred, but both were also rescues and not a super common breed (Treeing Walker Coonhound.)

Yeah, my buddy Max was a purebred miniature Schnauzer, he had a good 15 years before he got to the point where he couldn't get around anymore from arthritis and his mind started going so we had to put him down.

I'll probably get another Schnauzer eventually. I wish I had time and room to have a larger dog, but working the hours I work, keeping an active dog around here would be cruel.

Yeah, I have the impression (disclaimer: the mod star doesn't mean I know poo poo about the finances of this place) that the forums' monetary state is mostly the result of the overall slow death of ad-funded content as a result of the ad business getting so toxic that everyone blocks it and thus nobody pays dick for impressions anymore.
