The house was in pretty hosed condition when I moved in and I'm fairly confident I can have it in a better state when I move out than it was when I moved in but I'm still a tad worried they'll pull some stunt like rip up a floorboard, and a bunch of dry rot and try to pin it on me soomehow. This immigration "debate" is the stupidest thing I've read in a while. Totally open borders are bad because without infrastructure you end up with America's 19th century Irish/Italian slums where immigrants walk straight off the boat into poverty and thus into exploitation. That said, a large intake quota that gives first priority to refugees fleeing persecution or poverty is something to be proud of. Locking people up in camps is bad and all that.

It's difficult to agree with these statements, because calling people 'too easily offended' and implying their hypersensitivity is stifling debate is also a popular right-wing talking point to accomplish the same thing in reverse. Often people with very real grievances are ignored because they're 'just being too sensitive.' Is there anyone here who has experience with the Victorian Greens who can provide some actual facts? 'This is bullying' vs. 'you're too sensitive' is a very low-value argument that isn't going to get us anywhere without real context.
