Then it was the four Legion's Quest parts, not understanding anything and not actually following it up into AoA.
That might've been first, actually.

e: And then after the Death of Superman trade and a Venom collection that might've been Lethal Protector, abandoning comics for almost 15 years 'till hearing about the Sinestro Corpse War.

I wish they weren't so afraid to preserve the original printing, warts and all. Just hi-rez scans of paper. Rough texture, four-colour dots, bleeding over the lines. You're already looking at something old and funky. The kids are under no illusion that it's a modern comic if you clean it up.

This stuff being lost to time is kind of a big deal.

I'd love to see someone in the big two put their foot down. Even if complete preservation only comes in niche, expensive 'archive' editions, or whatever.

I browsed a little to see these cheap digital comics on Amazon but wasn't having much luck--does someone have a link to just the ones that are on sale?

Also, if I have Marvel Unlimited, am I just getting perpetual access to something and the ability to read on my Kindle, or are there some books for sale that aren't on MU? I would imagine any digital comic would also be on MU, but not exactly sure how it works.

The sale should be everything listed here https://www.comixology.com/Marvel-Recent-Collections-Sale/page/17867 Amazon Kindle sales sync with Comixology.

And MU has more or less everything from more than six months ago, minus adults only lines like Max and old expired licences like Godzilla and such.
New release comics are only available to buy on Comixology or Marvel's digital storefront, which is just Comixology without every other company listed.

There's a digital comics thread over yonder: https://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3611527

Their new out of universe young readers OGNs probably could have accommodated a sports title. I'm guessing nobody cared to pitch Wonder Woman badminton, but it could happen.

They do have a digital series being a what if DC revolved around biker culture.

I've been enjoying Astro City but I've come to the end of the trades I bought with Local Heroes.

The next few--the Dark Age Book 1 and Book 2--both seem to be ~$40+.

Is there some reliably better way to get the trades for a reasonable price or should I just buy the floppies? I don't tend to like doing that, but I don't think it's justified spending way more for the trade if it's at a premium for some reason and I just want to read the stories. And this is under the assumption that I can get the 16 issues for less than ~$80, which seems reasonable to me.

And I know it's an anthology so I don't REALLY need to read them in order, but the world-building is done with such purpose that I want to experience it that way.

I suppose digital is out of the question.
Maybe they'll start reprinting or doing jumbo omnibuses when the new OGNs start coming out.

He's always the name previous to or following runs I'm supposed to read. That always gave me the impression that he was an unexceptional jobber put on something when the important folks weren't around. Guessing that's pretty incorrect. It'd be swell if DC started collecting his stuff now.
