The announcement doesn't say anything about ero fanart or 'lewding' or anything like that. It's a very general request to be considerate; to not make works that are unpleasant for fans of the horses or that impair their image.

They didn't say stop doing porn. People are running with this 'NO LEWDS' narrative because it's more dramatic but it's just stupid. It's like when what, Bushiroad? asked for people to stop selling bootleg stuff and everyone was like OH MY GOD THEY'RE OUTLAWING LOVE LIVE DOUJINSHI

one of the leads in slow start is a girl who explicitly flirts with everyone in her class and another is a girl who explicitly thirsts after everyone else and there's an episode where the flirty girl has everyone put on swimsuits to make thirsty genki girl happy when she gets bummed out

i haven't watched all of comic girls but one of the later eps has a character talk about her feelings for one of the other leads and then they go on a date

there's also new game, which s2 heavily dives deeper into gay stuff

zestiria the x is completely different from the game to the point that it's kind of hilarious. there are still awkward bits of writing but rose is turned into an actual character, alisha gets way more focus and generally is presented as a stronger, more independent person from sorey and they're both girlfriends. like halfway through alisha just says "lets stop trying to kill each other and kill the people who actually suck" and rose is just like "drat you're actually kind of badass" and then they both team up and spend the rest of the show getting really excited together about how badass they are

cant speak to slow start but comic girls has a girl explicitly express romantic interest in another girl and the other characters be supportive about it and encourage her to go for it - there's some 'she's cool like a boy' stuff in the first ep to try and justify it but then later on she actually says thats only part of it and she likes when she's cute or wears girlier clothes too, so its an actual kind of development/gay realization and also kaos is pretty blatantly gay what with lines like , which admittedly would just read as goofy subtext if it werent in the same show as what i mentioned

but there's no actual like, full romantic resolution to those bits, they're just character dynamics/traits, so if you wanted a full yuri romance anime it still wouldnt fit the bill id say.

the zesty anime has some really silly plotbeats but it literally exists to try and make the game's plot more coherent and less awful and mostly succeeds, it helps that alisha is actually allowed to be a character, and her and rose get some good moments and the show ends with them in what is blatantly a romantic relationship, but it's not really the focus so again, not sure if it'd fully fit what you're asking for.

I was gonna wait for the last episode, but I'm calling out Tada-kun Never Falls in Love as the worst romcom with the worst main character I have ever seen. I have a pretty high tolerance towards self-insert boring shells of main characters, but Tada is so frustratingly boring for no reason. Even worse, the entire series is named after his schtick... that is never explained, hinted at, or strategically used in the plot/story. It honestly doesn't matter who Tada is, it doesn't matter what he does, and the entire romance falls apart because of it. Like, imagine the series is called "Tada-kun is a ham sandwich" and replace every scene with him with said ham sandwich, and the story follows how Teresa comes to love eating ham sandwiches while watching Rainbow Shogun; the show would improve. Atleast the title would be meaningful and accurate.

Also the main girl's bangs still suck.

I'm used to manwha where it takes 100+ chapters for the "I like you" part, so no wonder I dig Tada-kun.

slow start is a show with a focus on gay relationships. comic girls has a focus on manga stuff and gag content as far as i've seen so far but the mangaka seems gay as hell with how they use Kaos as their self-insert for a teen mangaka who is surrounded by figurines and posters and hug pillows of anime girls and wants to get published by Manga Time Kirara so she can draw cute 4koma

theres also going to be an anime adaptation of bloom into you airing in october. its not one of my favorite yuri manga but it is an explicitly lesbian story. the whole premise is even based in the lead girl feeling nothing but vague disgust when a guy confesses to her and wondering what it means, lol.

Slow Start was a lot of fun, and parts are beautifully animated, but it doesn’t get too explicitly gay. Just don’t want you to be disappointed!

might be better to extrapolate on that one since there are tons of connotations of 'explicitly gay' that slow start fills out. for example, gay grandmas, or the entire ep with sensei and eiko
and subtext written by a lesbian whose identity is reflected onto the characters is super different from what comes from the amanchu mangaka, a married straight woman.

You are of course correct on this. I guess it's more of a spectrum than just "gay," "not gay."

I think there's a lot of things that are pretty obviously gay but there's enough room for homophobe weirdos (and certain gay people/allies) to make increasingly dumb arguments for why they aren't necessarily gay russian greeting etc. and over the years I've stopped caring about that standard at all but even by the standards those people set slow start seems pretty gay

like literally eiko in slow start is just, insanely flirty with every girl in the show. and this isn't played off as a joke, it's commented on by multiple people and the only person who teases her about it is her super energetic classmate who has strong opinions about girls in dating sims and almost absolutely is portrayed as being into the lead of the show, not only through how she talks but like, in every way she physically interacts with her in any given scene

which, also, the dynamic between tama and hana is genuinely really sweet and funny and maybe one of my favorite things in a sol anime, for various reasons

the hosed up part is that there are only like, two or three episodes of slow start i'd really give like a 10/10, but those episodes are insanely loving good and i love them

the rest of the show is a solid 6 or a 7 with some really good moments

so i apologize to dis for making fun of him for skipping to the 10/10 eps

I don't think I've liked a dumb harem/romance manga as much as Jitsu wa Watashi wa / Truthism / My Monster Secret. It was like a grand slam of funny, dumb, cute and at times sad and wistful. Also, the SHOUNEN IT UP :black101: moments in some places were off the hook, though I don't think anything beats the horror faces

Eiko is basically the protagonist of her own harem anime going on in the background. It's kinda weird but kinda great sometimes.

well i just rapidly lose interest in almost everything these days nd I've stopped asigning things flaws when that happens cuz it just kind of does. With space from it I think the difference between Slow Start and similar shows I've enjoyed a lot in the past (yuru yuri and yuyushiki) is the energy level. It's pretty much always entertaining when Tama's doing her thing but when she wasn't around it was a lot less so and I think that's cuz she's constantly at a 20/10 and everyone else is at a 6.

I'm fairly sure the way the licensing deal worked is that Saban licensed individual seasons, not the entire franchise. However, this does leave the door open for Hasbro to try and get the rights to other seasons.
