Disney Star Wars is enjoyable, and the cruiser light speed scene in TLJ was such a beautiful sequence that it made the movie for me. Marvel movies are fun and shouldn't be taken too seriously. The last few films have landed very well with me, Black panther, Dr Strange, and Ragnarok to name a few. Infinity war worked well and is definitely high up in the rankings. It's 100% not a stand alone movie but it's satisfying to watch all the interactions and having Thanos as the main character/focus/protagonist was a good decision imo. I'm just bummed that it thematically clashed with the ending of Ragnarok right at the opening. And while obvious that there's going to be a reset, the deaths had impact even if it's fleeting and rationed away shortly after the credits roll.

Thor clearly says that Thanos killed half his people so we're assuming Valkyrie got away with half the remaining Asgardians. Tessa Thompson was sighted on set during filming so her scene was either cut or she's in A4.

She by no means a very bad actress by any stretch and certainly is a godawful load better than Natalie "Plank of wood or oscar worthy with nothing in between" Portman's terrible performances in the prequels.

I enjoyed rogue one even if its not a great film because I'm a massive sucker for heroic sacrifice in film and even cheesy stuff hits me right in the emotions. Hell, the opening to the first of the trek film reboots is enough to make me tear up. Force awakens suffered too much from homaging/setting up from the original trilogy. There were a few neat looking bits but the script and pace was all over the place. Haven't seen the last jedi yet, might grab it and watch it with the boy tonight.

Rogue One's worst problem was making the robot the most likeable character in the film by far. He was the only character I gave even half a poo poo about. It also suffered from it being a totally pointless movie. Why do people need to know every single little detail of things? It's like the recent Alien movies, poo poo is better when it's mysterious. The current trajectory of aliens is basically "oh a robot did it" and Ridley Scott's fetish for gay robots is weird as all hell.
