I am ready for Lupin to visit Rokkenjima next episode.

Lupin might get in trouble for his habit of routinely violating Knox's third, fourth, sixth, seventh and tenth.

Then again, he probably filched the golden truth before he arrived, which should help.

(Personally, I'm eager for Zenigata When He Yells Episode 1: Legend of the waste of my time because I could be chasing Lupin right now, and Episode 2: Turn of the key to Zenigata's car because I solved the mystery already.)

Fujiko got Lupin an anniversary gift. Lupin got drunk and didn't remember why the day was special, so she got ticked and put it in his toilet to sabotage it. When she got it out, it smelled like poo water, so Lupin put it in the trash.

Fujiko and Lupin's relationship is often awkward.

It was a really enjoyable character episode. It might be my favorite too. Goemon happy to hear Zenigata approved of his meal was really funny. Lots of good stuff in this one.

And Lupin nearly giving himself away by being happy that Zenigata doesn't think of him as a regular criminal.

Well, this week brought another thing I wasn't expecting from Lupin.

A woman from Jigen's past who neither died nor betrayed him.

Rather uncommon, that.

Great show so far!
This is from a while back but I had been wondering the same thing for a while now.

This is the closest I've been able to find. It would be nice to have a decent version without the border in it.

Ah wow, thanks! I sort of managed to get a decent version (same as the one you posted) in Wallpaper Engine on Steam.

This was a good episode, I like they're enhancing the first internet storyline. I assume all those people posting about Lupin are from the old series? Also have no idea why Fujiko is naked and tied up but there you go haha

Nah, the faux Hitler guy and a couple of other dudes were also from Part 2. Another guy was from Part 4.

Naked Fujiko in a chair is referencing episode 145 of Part 2 as well. Hayao Miyazaki worked on that one.

Nice trivia, I suppose.

Its hilarious how telegraphed the twist is:

"Enzo had a daughter who was kidnapped, possibly killed."

Oh I'm gonna guess thats...

"She may have been sold into child pornography"

YEP THATS AMI

Given he was familiar with Ami's hacking persona beforehand, it's nice to know that he never fully lost contact with his daughter :unsmith:

I still don't get the Amy -> Ami thing though. I'm expecting some sort of payoff at the end of the series where saying Ami ends up as a sign of acknowledgement or something.

Like normally the Lupin gang is not nearly that blood thirsty towards people that don't deserve it.

Jigen and Goemon have relatively high body counts.

Loved that Lupin was basically hiding out in the Cagliostro catacombs and that it's now a decently sized tourist attraction.

I liked the ending. Mostly a fun ride, but also had some interesting things to say about the character and his world. That said, I am also a fan of not taking everything super literally or super seriously in anime to begin with.

I can see certain folks coming out of the episode with some degree of disappointment or just confusion if they were expecting a more "serious" twist or a definitive resolution to the big question, but...that's not what Lupin III is.

MonsterEnvy posted:

He'll definitely be available for future adventures and they would be fools to not take advantage of it. I imagine he could be the focus of a Part 5-based movie or TV special.

I enjoyed the finale. Part V was a real fun ride and really revitalized my interest in the franchise as a whole. Definitely going to be checking out the newer stuff I've missed lately lately like Part IV and Woman Called Fujiko Mine, as well as going back and watching all of the older stuff.

This was a hella fun episode and series overall. Excited for the next installment and how they might incorporate some of the more prevalent minor characters going forward. I'm hella curious about him ripping his own face off though. There was even a payoff for the Amy-Ami thing with her reconciling with her dad :3:

Obviously

Underneath Lupin's Mask is Lupin's face. He was wearing a mask since he wrote his feelings for Fujiko on his face, and shaved how he outwitted everyone into his hair.

Elementary, really.

It's pretty clear that Lupin's face, is not his actual face. It's another disguise.

It is likely referencing that too, given all the obscure nods in the series thus far.
