The ancient movie house I saw Inland Empire in a few months back, sitting behind a Harlem Globetrotter and surrounded by IPA-sipping adjunct professors as my back seized up, was a much purer and more egalitarian cinematic experience than half-price ticket night at the Regal down the block where the stadium seating gave me a full view of all the teenagers giving each other handies

I liked Queen of Earth a lot but that was hard to sit through. Probably more than half the point but not in the "I've got to see this" way
