Everybody in that movie seems so bored to be in that movie. It looks technically competent but there's just this layer of blandness on top of it. Also why are all these Star Wars stories all heists? I'm not really complaining because heists are cool and good but still, give me the slasher film starring Darth Vader that was hinted at in Rogue One.

I have come to realize that I have no idea what Tom Hardy actually sounds like normally. For some reason, the scream/yell/shout from that goon after the "We are Venom" line really bothers me. It's such a lovely sound and breaks up the flow so much that I can't help but fixate on it. Why not end the trailer on "We are Venom"?

This trailer seems focused on the CIA black ops stuff, while the previous one made it seem like a "hardened killer protects a kid" story, a la Logan. I think so far my main issue is that that main white guy lead just seems like a whole lotta nothing. It's a character template that we've seen before in like, Sam Worthington in Avatar, Charlie Hunnam in Pacific Rim, Joel Kinnaman in Suicide Squad, etc etc. It's just an absolute void of charisma and character interest that drains those movies of a lead we can care about, goddamn. I really hope Sterling K Brown is the secret main character of the movie, but I get the feeling that won't be the case. Better trailer than that one that focused on the kid, though.
