Short version: much worse. Longer version: Better or worse for whom, exactly? Internationally speaking, if you're a Russian oligarch looking to further add to your money pile, or a Chinese government official eager to gobble up every square meter of the South China sea, I'm sure it'd be great. If you're a citizen of Latvia or the Philippines, bend over and grab your ankles. I also see this magic button scenario ending badly for just about everyone in the US aside from the top 1%, who of course have so much money not much can phase them. The utter bedlam unleashed on food distribution, supply chains, etc. would make life miserable for most people, at least at first. It would probably end with a now-nuclear Canada annexing the entire west coast, most of the east, and a good chunk of the midwest, leaving the Neo-Confederacy or whatever to rot.
