Club management tend to get this idea that once they're solidly mid-table they need to avoid stagnating and keep aiming for the top, and if they do stagnate they need to make changes, but all that happens is they crash and burn OP Leicester are the only rogue successful club in recent PL memory and they never got the chance to fall into that trap (except after if you want to argue sacking Ranieri), I mean in the 2000s at least you occasionally had clubs challenging for the CL even if they were hopeless in the race for the title but nowadays?
