I’m not exactly sure but it’s something about the flavor that I just can’t stand. I don’t think it’s the saltiness and I can honestly say I’ve tried olives nearly every way possible.

Really wish I liked them though I just can’t do it.

sometimes i wonder if non-pickeled olives are good, i only see pickled (which i agree are bad).

I mean it is weird that the sex toys for penises look like disembodied vaginas/buttholes or entire catatonic women. it’s very uncanny valley in the worst way. I feel similarly about disembodied penis dildos, but they also make classy elegant dildos too and those can be really aesthetically pleasant. I don’t know what an equivalent fleshlight would look like.

huh yeah that seems like the right approach for a sex toy that doesn't make your new gf block your number when she sees it

some thing I noticed in those grafo+chloe comics is the weird contrast between the depiction of the characters when both the author and the girl are in the same comic. Both characters are severe departures from genuine human anatomy, but the features the author renders each character with are vastly different. The male character / subject is basically a featureless white blob, whereas the female character / object is rendered in cartoonish detail.

I think there’s something about gender and representation you could write here but I don’t wanna think it all the way through. and yes before someone asks I just see them on the front page sometimes because the bus WiFi blocks SA

here i found an example - SFW

I guess the question then is “Why isn’t the depiction of the female character just hastily poo poo out like the male character?” I know the answer is obvious but sometimes those are interesting places to look, imo

it’s sad because the very obviously ideal working balance is like 20 hours of work a week. no work feels terrible, but even a reasonable 40 hours leaves you too drained to live fully. our complete social inability to distribute work in a healthy way is really sad and bad

I've taken in media that frames outside influences, such as nervous thought patterns and certain media ,as insidious threats to a even tempered manner of being.

That you need to constantly vigilant of how your own thought patterns are changing due to outside influences, and not feel weird practicing mindfulness exercises in spare moments

It uses very evocative language, describing this persuasive force as an organised attempt by a single unseen entity to distract and unfocus the mind and that mindfulness exercises are a sort of immunisation protocol in retaining a sense of self.

And this paradigm for processing Media's ability to alter the self isn't perfect or wholistic, and it's pretentious as gently caress. But it's a fair place to start when a background cis-nazi-chud hum exists on basically all social media.

sounds cool what is it?

lol phiz made a comment about how the thing aged poorly and made a joke about jerking off and you guys are acting like they’re engaging in some ridiculous and unacceptable level of self flagellation. They just felt uncomfortable with a piece of media and made a comment. this is a weird way to respond to that and it gives off very ‘im mad because the vegan isn’t eating meat’ vibes.

Cyberpunk 2077 is transphobic garbage anyways and they've doubled down on it a few times.

honestly im happier for a video game to try and do an ok job than to just never try. if we pillory every piece of media that does queer representation imperfectly the lesson studios are going to take away isn’t “we need to do better queer representation”, it’s gonna be “we need to avoid queer representation”.

as far as I can see, in most games choosing to play as male or female also comes with certain predetermined vocal characteristics in addition to assuming the character is cis. This games fixes the latter issue but not the former. It’d be better if it fixed both obv but I guess that’s not what happened.

Imo going somewhere small and random with a good friend is as good as anything. Just go to the small city a 3 hour drive away, stay at a hotel, eat some food, check out the local nice places. Usually the company is more fun than the destination to me.

CS Lewis posted:

Critics who treat 'adult' as a term of approval, instead of as a merely descriptive term, cannot be adult themselves. To be concerned about being grown up, to admire the grown up because it is grown up, to blush at the suspicion of being childish; these things are the marks of childhood and adolescence. And in childhood and adolescence they are, in moderation, healthy symptoms. Young things ought to want to grow. But to carry on into middle life or even into early manhood this concern about being adult is a mark of really arrested development. When I was ten, I read fairy tales in secret and would have been ashamed if I had been found doing so. Now that I am fifty I read them openly. When I became a man I put away childish things, including the fear of childishness and the desire to be very grown up.

It’s really dense to be like “well I have a healthy relationship with X and it doesnt effect me negatively” when someone mentions cutting something out and it being positive for them. Like, use the tiniest amounts of imagination and empathy and you can get there, I promise.
