i have frequently considered whether or not i'm on the spectrum. apparently i was referred for autism diagnoses as a baby due to behavioral stuff but nothing ever came of it. as i grew up i struggled a lot socially, and i definitely having learning disabilities of some sort. i dropped out of high school because i couldn't handle the social aspect, but part of this is that i was homeschooled until highschool and had practically no social skills. if i am on the spectrum, being homeschooled (without any treatment for ASD) was definitely bad for me. i worked very very very hard at learning to socialize, i went through the CCC (conservation program for at risk youth) and it taught me to deal. so i'm doing okay now and have a professional job and cant complain. i definitely have really hard time making eye contact, it's intensely uncomfortable, even with family and friends. especially with family and friends. anyhow that's my story namaste.
